Model Collab Meetup, Coffee Mixer, and Master Class: "Photo Basics for Models"

I am shooting all this month in Jongno and meeting lots of new models, assistants, and other fine folks. In order to make my time spent doing so all the more efficient, I’ve decided to create a meet-n-greet over coffee in which I can create a nice excuse to talk and interact — a class on photo basics for models. And the class isn’t designed to make you into a photographer, but know enough about what’s going in inside a camera and during a shoot to make you a better model.

And a side benefot for me is that I can meet up with many of you with whom I’ve spoken with in the chat and in DMs all at one time, so we can quickly and efficiently get a sense of each other to lead to other, separate collabs. This is basically the coffee part of the first meetup you usually make between photographer and model/HMUA, but compressed into a single, large-group format, so as to get that out of the way. Thereby, we can get down to later collabs much more easily and quickly now that we will have gotten to know one another.

Time and Place: 1 PM on this Saturday (November 18) in Cafe Gondry in Anguk-dong, near Anguk Station.
(4 Gyedong 2-gil, Gye-dong, Jongno-gu, Seoul)

Requirements: Just you, maybe your camera if you have one, and buying a cup of coffee in the cafe.

 

It’s nothing fancy, not a big shindig, and no formalities are expected. It’s just the first coffee step towards a collab, made a little bit more fun as a “master class” in which you can get some real news and views you can use. I’ve got another shoot at 3pm close by, but we can go from around 1-3 with our class while getting to know each other a bit while prepping with my main model for the shoot that day.

All are welcome, whether model, shooter, or gawker, and the goal is to start up a chat that can lead to some collabs later.

You don’t have to be as fancy as Model @jingruus just to go have a cup of coffee, but as with anything, you can choose to be as fancy as you wanna be.

Also, anyone looking to possibly assist in the shoot we’re going to do in the nearby Changgyeonggung Palace, we might be in need of some assistants from maybe 3-6. We’ll figure it out there. But in short, we’re gonna go off and make something like this. Come talk shop, then maybe come assist.
